Well, That was Fun

My dear friend, Lsig, posted this on her page, and I’m finally taking up the invitation.

Here it goes.

I was working part time at a 5 and dime
My boss was Mr. McGee.
He told me several times that he didn’t like my kind
‘Cause I was a bit 2 leisurely.

It seems that I was busy doing something close to nothing,
But different than the day before.
That’s when I saw her-
Ooh, when I saw her.
She walked in through the out door, out door.

She wore a raspberry beret...

Give me some of your favorite 80’s lyrics in the comments - I can’t wait to hear ‘em!

for some odd reason these are the lyrics running through my head:

Who can it be knocking at my door?
Make no sound, tip-toe across the floor.
If he hears, he'll knock all day,
I'll be trapped, and here I'll have to stay.
I've done no harm, I keep to myself;
There's nothing wrong with my state of mental health.
I like it here with my childhood friend;
Here they come, those feelings again!

I want to run
I want to hide
I want to tear down the walls
That hold me inside
I want to reach out
And touch the flame
Where the streets have no name

I come home in the morning light
My mother says when you gonna live your life right
Oh mother dear we're not the fortunate ones
And girls they want to have fun
Oh girls just want to have fun

Take on me.
Take me on.
I'll be gone,
if you don't
Take.

Gotta love the 80s. Now, I love that I got props for this. I also love that as soon as I saw the headline, I knew with 100% certainty that you'd quote some Prince lyrics.

Sue-
You tagged me, but you didn't leave any lyrics! :)

You gotta love a good Men at Work Tune. (especially if you're Zane)

riley-
Ahhh, a real classic. And by classic I mean it holds up way better than either my or SRH's lyrical contributions.

zulhai-
I have not 1, but 2 of Cyndi Lauper's greatest hits cds. (one is acoustic) It's quite sad really.

Sometimes your friends just know you. What can I say?
